Caoime Glavin - French Horn
Caoime is a French horn player from Kerry. She recently completed a first class masters degree at the Royal College of Music, where she was taught by Kira Doherty, John Ryan and Simon Rayner. She has an undergraduate degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and was taught by Jonathan Lipton, Angela Barnes and Sue Dent. Prior to her studies, she was taught by Sean Clinch in the Cork School of Music. Caoime was the horn player for the 2022-2023 Ulster Orchestra Professional Experience Scheme and is part of the section for the 2023-2024 Orpheus Sinfonia Foundation Programme. She has played with orchestras such as the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, Irish National Opera, Northern Ireland Opera, Ulster Orchestra, Orpheus Sinfonia and English National Ballet. She has played solo fourth horn in Schumann’s Konzertstuck for 4 horns and orchestra with the Young Musicians Symphony Orchestra, Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra and Banbury Symphony Orchestra. In her free time she enjoys going back to her family home in Kerry and spending time with her family’s collie cross Siofraith and greyhound Broigin.
